All of them have forbidden from doing any other work on this day. This festival celebrated in the month of September or October.
According to believes on this day God decides the fate of every individual, so Jewish people encouraged to amend their mistakes and ask for forgiveness for sins they have committed during last year.
On the occasion of this festival Jewish people undergo for fast of 25 hours and other religious services. It is popular as the High Holy Days in Judaism.
2. Rosh Hashanah – JEWISH FESTIVALS
It is one of the most important and auspicious festivals celebrated by Jewish people. This Festival considered as the High Holy Days in Judaism along with Yom Kippur.
It is the Jewish New Year which has celebrated to symbolize the creation of the world. This is a long festival in which people get 10
long days to self- examine, repentance, during which god sits judgement on every individual.
This festival is also famous as the day of Judgement. A special musical instrument popular as Shofar played and blown on this day.
3. Passover – JEWISH FESTIVALS
It is an important festival in Judaism. It is an 8 day long festival. Jews consider Moses as their god and people who follow Islam consider him as a Prophet of Allah.
This festival celebrated to mark the liberation of children of Israel who were led by Moses from Egypt. The main delicacy of this festival is Matzah.
During this long festival story of liberation has narrated and each family have a Sedar meal which is also an important and main highlight of this festival.
During this festival people living in each house hold clean their complete house as to ensure that there is no left over or any trace of Leaven.
4. Yom Hashoah:
As I have mentioned earlier that Jewish people have discriminated from ages due to which they had faced many atrocities. And there are days or incidents which are difficult to forget.
This is a day in Judaism which symbolizes the holocaust happened on Jewish people.
5. Tisha B’av:
It is a day which is their in Judaism and life of Jewish people to signify and symbolize all the atrocities and various other tragic incidents or events which had happened with the Jewish people.
6. Tu B’Shevat:
It is an important festival celebrated. It is also popular as the New Year for Trees. This Festival is considered as one of the four new year’s which are celebrated by Jewish people all over the world.
7. Sukkoth – JEWISH FESTIVALS
There are many other important festivals but I thought I should mention this festival.
Jews had been facing discrimination from very long so long back in history they all migrated to find their own land.
This festival is celebrated to commemorate all those years which they spent in deserts during their search for a suitable land for themselves.
During this whole journey many people lived in tents, huts made of leaves and branches. These huts are known as sukkah.
There are various rules that were needed to be followed during the building of these sukkah. It should have at least 3 walls, its top must be covered from the materials that is grown from land and should be cut-off.
People used to celebrate their festivals in these houses.
