We all are missing festivals that we celebrated in 2019. In this year 2020 we have locked up in our own houses due to global pandemic. And have seen numerous numbers of changes occurring in the life styles of people and also the ways of celebrating a festival. Also, there had been no parades, social gatherings, processions, burning of crackers and many more.

This world is full of joy and excitement and certainly festivals increases our joy and excitement. Festivals mark the beginning of new chapters in life of human being. It leads us towards the path of light from darkness.

Ganesh Chaturthi:

This an important festival celebrated in India. This festival symbolizes the birth of Lord Ganesha. This is a 3, 5, 7, 11, 21, Long festival depending upon the region celebrated in India. This festival includes installations of idols of Lord Ganesha along with Mantapa’s. On the day of visarjan pooja idol of Lord Ganesha is visarjan in various water bodies with various musical instruments and music. This festival is also popular for its various delicacies, Modak is the most loved sweet by the Lord and it has dedicated to him in every house hold in India.

2. Bakrid ( Eid- Ul- Azha):

It is an important festival of people who follow Islam Religion. On this auspicious day people start their chores early in the morning and most of them wear Islamic outfit. Then they pray to almighty Allah in an open field or area then they carry on with their animal sacrifices. The most important delicacy in this festival is Haleem and keema. There is a story or incident which is prevalent in Islamic world and also among people who follow Islam Religion. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to god’s command. On this day animal sacrifices includes sacrifices of goat, camel, cow, and buffalo sheep. This festival is also popular as Festival of Sacrifice, Sacrifice feast.

3. Muharram:

Popular festival celebrated all over the world by the people who have faith in Islam religion. Muharram is the first month of Islamic calendar. This festival has celebrated with great joy and excitement especially in Islamic countries.

Muharram is one of the four most sacred months of the year in Islam religion. It is the second sacred and holiest month after the month of Ramadan.

Tenth day of month of Muharram is popular as the day of Ashura, it is also famous as the Mourning of Muharram. Both Shia and Sunni divisions both undergo partial fasting and practice fasting respectively.

This is the month in which Hazrat Imam Hussain attained martyrdom with his family. During the sacred months of Islam war has forbidden. The Quraish and Arabs also forbade wars during these months.

4. Athachamayam Festival:

This festival has celebrated as the mark the revolutionary victory of Raja of Kochi as the 10th day long Onam festival. It has celebrated in Tripunithura near Kochi in Ernakulam district of Kerala.

This festival includes traditional, and folk dance forms of kerala, it has Gala procession ceremonial parade, this festival also includes the events which show cases the history, culture and tradition of Kerala.

5. Mid-atumn Festival:

This is an amazing festival celebrated in China. China is the country which challenges supremacy of USA and want to become world power.

This festival is 3000 year old Festival. It has celebrated in the 8th month of chinese calendar. This festival is also popular as Moon Festival all over the world.

Moon is considered as the symbol of peace and prosperity according to old traditions and customs of China. Light Lanterns, Moon Cakes, Burning incense are the main attractions of this festival.

6. Regatta Storica:

It is a very old festival celebrated since this day. It dates back to 15th century. This festival was first celebrated in the year 1489. This festival is celebrated in Venice, Italy. Italy is one of the developed countries of European Continent.

This festival includes wearing old costumes, parades, rowing races on the Grand Canal. This festival reminds us of old 15th century costumes, culture, and tradition.
