Festivals are integral part of life of human beings. Every festival brings joy and happiness in life. These festivals begin a new chapter in life of every one.

Festivals gives us the message of victory of good over evil, victory of faith, devotion, kindness and many more irrespective of their religions and their beliefs.

There are numerous festivals all around the world and have their own importance. Some of the important festivals all around the world are Ramadan, Bakrid, Christmas, Holi, Deepawali, Dussehra, Holi, Buddha Jayanti, Mahaveer Jayanti, Obon festival Japan, Semana Santa, Songkran Festival, Tsechus Festival, Good Friday, Perahera Festival, International Film Festival, Bob Marley Week, and many more.

We all of us enjoy celebrating irrespective of our age, children enjoy because they get a day off from their schools, and elders because they get a day off from their work and from seeing their bosses.

In this auspicious month of Ramadaan people undergo fasting for a complete month from sun rise to sun set, with- out even drinking a drop of the drop.

On the day of Eid people rise early, start their daily chores early, dress up in an Islamic outfit and pray to almighty Allah in an open area under the sun.

Moreover, on this day children collect their gifts from their elders and enjoy by having various delicacies too. Who don’t love to have delicacies on the festival?

This festival has celebrated to mark the return of lord Rama to his own kingdom after completing a long exile of 14 years. This festival was first celebrated by the subjects of Lord Rama to mark his return.

It is also popular as the festival of Lights as people of every house hold light- up their house with numerous lights. And have various delicacies like Kaju Katli which is prevalent in India.

4. Obon Festival, Japan:

Obon Festival is an important festival in Japan. It is a three-day-long festival. It celebrated by Buddhist people. This festival is also popular as the festival of Lanterns. In this festival, you can enjoy by watching a dance form called Odori and a giant bonfire lit in the hills of Kyoto.

5. Holi – World Festivals

Holi is a famous Indian festival which is also celebrated in many western and European countries. It is also popular as the festival of Colors.

Holi is celebrated all over India. This festival signifies the end of evil and victory of devotion and faith. There are two legends which are popular among the people of India. First one is a story of a devotee of Lord Narayana name Prahlad and second is of mischievous nature and activities of Lord Krishna with the Gopis of Brindavan.

A Latmaar form of holi iss celebrated even before the celebration of actual holi stars in entire country, this holi is celebrated near the area of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh State.

A beverage called Bhang is popular in India during this festival along with holi songs from the films of great Indian Super Star Amitabh Bachchan.

6. Songkran Festival:

This is a popular festival in Thailand. This festival is the welcoming of spring and the vernal equinox in Thailand. This festival is celebrated in many countries such as Cambodia, Laos and Burma but one thing to mention here is that though it is celebrated in all these countries but it is known by different names. This festival is a long festival which is commonly celebrated from 13th April to 15th April and it can also be celebrated for six long days in many parts of the country.

7. Tsechus Festival:

It is an important festival celebrated in Bhutan. Bhutan is a land locked country which shares its border with both India and China. India and Bhutan have maintained very close ties with each other and have presented an amazing example of mutual understanding, respect, and partnership in front of this world.
