Meaning and Importance of RakshaBandhan:

Raksha Bandhan is a special festival that describes and show-case the special relationship of every brother and sister. Every brother and sister share a very special and strong bond.

Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 22nd August 2021 that is on Sunday. Raksha Bandhan is also a part of many countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

It is also known as RakhiPournima, Rakhi, Saluno, UjjwalSilono, and Rakhi. India is a vast country due to which the same festival is known by different names depending upon the regions where it is celebrated.

For example, Holi is celebrated in every part of the country, but the LathmarHoli is celebrated in areas near Mathura and Nandanvan. Celebrations of it even start before the celebration of actual Holi.

This festival is related to BhaiDuj, BhaiTika, and SamaChakeva. However, these festivals represent and show the relationship between every brother and sister. The term Rakhi means Raksha protection and amulet.

Observation, Tradition, and Way of Celebration:

On this day sisters of all ages tie a talisman, or amulet, called the Rakhi around the wrists of their brothers, symbolically protecting them. In return, sisters receive gifts from their brothers. This festival is also one of the ways to increase the responsibility and social awareness in both brother and sister.

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the last day of the Hindu lunar Calendar month of Shraavana, which generally falls in the month of August.

On this day every sister performs Aarti of their every brother irrespective of their age. Since this is a special day in the life of every brother and sister. This day cannot be replaced by any other day.

IMPORTANCE OF RAKSHA BANDHAN:

In this present world, people do not have enough time to spend with their loved ones. Festivals become very important as it gives them time for which a human being had been waiting for.

Festivals play an important role in bringing people close to each other. However people like to celebrate as they get time to enjoy themselves with their friends, family, colleagues, and others.

Raksha Bandhan is a festival that helps in raising the sense of responsibility in every brother towards their sisters. This also helps to improve and increase love between every brother and sister.  

CONCLUSION:

Every brother and sister spend huge time together since they are born. They fight with each other, do mischievous acts, and they love each other. Some time’s they fail to express their love, feelings, and emotions to each other, but deep inside they know on whom they can rely on in the time of difficulties and problems.

Having a Sibling is a boon for a person. He or she can share their emotions with each other. Brother and Sister are big emotional support for each other. They support, respect, and understand the decision of each other when this entire world will be against you.

These kinds of festivals in India are very important, as they provide an opportunity to express their love, and gratitude for being there always.
