Ganesh Chaturthi is an important festival celebrated in India. It is celebrated by the people who follow Hindu Religion. This festival has very special place in heart of Indians.

Festival has some been integral part of human being. Everyone loves to celebrate festivals. It brings happiness, joy, and excitement in life. It spreads positive message in life of humanity.

Every festival celebrated in this world give positive message and spreads victory of good, faith, truth, trust, and devotion over evil. Festivals are important to part of human life.

Festivals may differ in names, culture, tradition, customs, and heritage depending upon the region. India is a vast country here many festivals are known by various names and the way of celebrating them also differs,

Best example for this is Makar Sankranti, Lohri, Holi, Lathmaar Holi and other.

 Ganesh chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi. This is an amazing and magnificient festival celebrated in India every year. It is mostly celebrated in the month of july.

This festival is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha as the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesh was born in mount kailash. This festival is celebrated on a large scale in whole country.

Lord Ganesha is considered as the First Worshipper god, he is considered as the problem solver for good people who follow right path and obstacle creator for those who do not follow right path. He is also the lord of intelligence and he millions of devotees who worships him all over the world.

It is said that remembering Lord Ganesha before and task or activity is important, if not then the person may face difficulties in that task and which can also leads to failure in that task.

There are hundreds of prayers, bhajans, hymns, shlokas, mantras devoted to lord ganesha in the vedas. Ganesh Chaturthi is also celebrated in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

Lord Ganesha is known for his wisdom, intellect and calmness. There is a popular mythology which is known in India since generations which narrates us the story of birth of Lord Ganesha.

The story narrates as goddess parvati wanted some- one who will obey her every words and respect her and consider her words as last. She felt this because the worshippers and ganas of lord Shiva were unable to follow her words in front of lord Shiva.

So once Goddess Parvati went to take a bath, she took turmeric paste with her and applied on her body and then created an idol in human form. Later she blew life in that idol.

Then a boy was born from it, she named him as Vinayak and accepted him as her own son and clearly instructed him that she is going to take bath and not to allow any one inside.

After some time Lord Shiva came there. He was stopped by the boy as he tried to enter inside then both have introduction and Shiva told to Vinayaka that he can go inside as he is husband of Parvati and father of him and this do not apply to him.

But Vinayaka refused to do so, as he was commanded by his mother, for Vinayaka his mother’s command was bigger than any -one else. To avoid this conflict all gods including Brahma, Vishnu, Indra, and many ganas of Shiva tried to make the boy understand by wiseness or by force but Vinayaka defeated them all.

On seeing this Lord Shiva cut his head with his trishul, on hearing this news goddess got extremely angry and to avoid destruction of the world from her anger Lord Shiva gave a new life to Vinayaka. Shiva also mentioned the requirements for finding the head for Vinayak and gods were able to find a baby elephant head, and lord Shiva gave a new life to Vinayak as Ganesh with the help of a baby elephant head.

Then all gods blessed Lord Ganesh with boons. This festival is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Ganesh. In this festival it includes installations of temporary mantapas, where idols of Lord Ganesh are installed. In this festival people prays to lord, hymns, bhajans, mantras, shlokas and many more.

Modak is an important delicacy of this festival. This festival is incomplete without music, songs, and musical instruments. Mumbai’s Ganesh Visarjan is famous all over the country. Idols of lord are installed in every house hold and prayers, poojas, hymns, mantras takes place in every house hold in India. On completion of 3,5,9,11,21 days of installation of idols of Lord Ganesh Visarjan of idols takes place. People immerse idols of Lord Ganesh in Rivers, Lakes, Seas, and other water bodies.

This festival also has an environmental impact too but it has special place in life of people in India, it is celebrated with immense joy and pleasure in entire country.
